Tech billionaires now control much of our media, and many of them are geared toward profit, not public service. Serving democracy does not seem to be a top priority — no matter how threatened democracy might be.
That assertion assumes media is (a) truthful, (b) has the skills to determine truth, (c) the news media was always run as a “public service” and (d) losing other people’s money is fine.
He does not ask, is the media delivering the value that customers want?
