One content site labels the others as “20-somethings churning out clickbait”

Money Talks News seems to be a really old content mill type operation, back ending content for other media outlets, but dating back to 1991.

This is an interesting comment from their About page, as it describes exactly what I have observed about so many content mills:

Most important, you can trust what you see here. Our writing and video staff has an average of 17 years of experience, not just writing articles, but writing personal finance articles.  Unlike many sites, we’re not a warehouse staffed by 20-somethings churning out clickbait. We’re a boutique with select, committed staff who know what they’re talking about and have a common mission: helping our subscribers take control of their finances and lead a more rewarding life.

About Money Talks News

That is a reasonably official acknowledgement of what’s happening with news today, and certainly MSN Start, Yahoo News, and even Google News is trending that way by providing mass distribution for the content mills.

Interestingly, I saw some others observing this issue – much of our news is generated by 20-something creative writers seeking yet another new angle on something that has already had far more coverage than the subject requires.

In the case of Money Talks News, many of their staff are even qualified to do what they do, unlike the typical content mill which pays 20-somethings by the article – and where their authors are typically degreed in English Lit or creative writing.
