Media: “News” fillers
All news is gradually turning into click-bait for bored people surfing the web and reading random stories. Algorithmic advertising networks put adds on anything.
- How a PanAm flight attendant fell in love with a CIA officer on a plane | CNN
- Their flights were canceled and they spent 24 hours falling in love | CNN
- She got the last seat on a flight next to a stranger. They’ve been married for 40 years | CNN
- Two strangers met walking the Camino de Santiago. Just weeks later they were engaged | CNN
(Hey!!!! For what it is worth, I sat next to a nice young lady on an airplane flight a very long time ago too! Three successful adult kids and decades later, we are still married! We are fluff news story material!!!!)
Why are these CNN “news” stories? How do you define “news”? Their author has written tons of these fluff pieces. She has a Masters in English Literature and this what she does for a living. Wild.
Why is this a news item on CNN?
