Media: Remember July’s reports on smoke from fires in Canada?
Creative writing news service Forbes said this on July 26, 2023:
Sounds terrible. National news covered this – Chicago, New York, Boston. How terrible.
All the national media outlets – based in NYC of course – covered this terrible, horrible, no good, we can’t breathe AQIs of 100+. Oh my!
My house yesterday – we hit a peak AQI of 529 at the worst – and conditions will remain this way for days:
This is not even news coverage in other parts of my state, let alone a national news story.
Yet CNN managed to report on this important story:
Modern day journalism is pretty much worthless noise and garbage. When they do report on a real story, they typically get elements of the story wrong. They don’t care.
Later in the week I posted the above, we woke up to an AQI of 422, as measured by a PurpleAir air monitor (several in our neighborhood). Still no news coverage about this outside our own County.
