Clearview AI scraped the entire web to amass an enormous database of personal photos of everyone. They then sell database access to law enforcement who can have the system attempt to identify a suspect from a photo.

They stole photos from your Instagram, Facebook, MySpace and other places on the web.

Most of us have no recourse regarding their theft of our photos. California, however, has a privacy law that enables residents to request what data a company is collecting on them, and to request deletion and suspension of future data collection. A reporter in California used the law to do just that.
