Media: Democrats win in Democrat strongholds
CNN Headline at top of main page

Historical Context
Virginia, New Jersey and New York (state) are historically Democrat party strongholds. New York City is overwhelmingly Democrat party focused – as Co-Pilot AI notes, NYC is “one of the most Democratic (party) cities in the U.S.”
Michigan is politically mixed – transitioning from historical Republican dominance, to currently, with the House controlled by Republicans, but the Senate and Governor are Democrats.

Thus, Democrats, running in (mostly) Democrat dominated jurisdictions, won elections. That’s about all that says.
It could be that the electorate is turning against Trump, however, the evidence trail presented by the media – Democrats winning elections in jurisdictions where Democrats have usually won elections – is not a strong argument. Will be interesting to see how future votes in more nuanced jurisdictions trend. That would be useful data.
